ti&m is a new award partner at Best of Swiss Apps. As part of its IT youth development program "hack an app", ti&m sponsors a separate category and presents the hack an app award for the best quizz app developed by a child.
A matter of the heart
For over ten years, ti&m has been inspiring children between the ages of 11 and 14 to get involved in IT with its "hack an app" IT youth development program. At the four-day courses, children learn the basics of IT, develop their own app with the help of ti&m employees and thus immerse themselves in the fascinating world of technology in a playful way. Over 2,000 children have now taken part in the youth development program.
Thomas Wüst, founder and CEO of ti&m, recalls: "It all started with the Future Day. My daughter thought that we at ti&m should also introduce such a day, which we then did. A good bottle of wine and a long discussion with my wife finally inspired me to create our hack an app. I'm very happy to be able to give more reach to the very important topic of youth development in IT by partnering with Best of Swiss Apps."
Free "hack an app" courses throughout German-speaking Switzerland
The free four-day courses are held regularly during the school vacations at the three Swiss ti&m locations in Zurich, Bern and Basel and at various schools throughout German-speaking Switzerland. The "hack an app" courses are also open to other companies and can be held including ti&m course leaders at the respective offices.
All children who have attended a "hack an app" course can take part in the hack an app award. However, participation is also open to other children. The condition is that they are between 11 and 14 years old and have developed their own app using the "Thunkable" platform. The detailed conditions of participation will be published on the ti&m website on June 7 at the launch of Best of Swiss Apps 2023
